Where can I dance in Chicago?




Chicago is a great city for swing dancers; there is a venue for dance every night of the week!
The Calendars on Windy Hop and This Week in Chicago are great online resources for dancers in town.


Recurring social dances include, but are not limited to:


Fizz (at The Apartment) every Monday night  | Beginner Lesson: 8-9pm, Open Dancing: 9pm - 12am | Suggested Donation $7/5 for students) | BYOB

First Fridays at Big City Swing on the first Friday of every month | Beginner Lesson: 8-9pm, Open Dancing: 9pm - 12am | $10/7 for students

Traffic Jam Swing on (usually) the second Saturday of every month | Beginner Lesson: 8:15-9pm, Open Dancing: 9pm - 11pm, Soul Hour from 11pm - 12am | $10/5 for students

Bluetopia on the last Saturday of every month | Beginner Blues Lesson: 8-9pm, Open Dancing: 9pm - 2am |  $10/9 for students

The Flat Cats play at the Alhambra Palace Restaurant (pictured above) on one Wednesday of every month with a special guest | Beginner Lesson: 8-8:30pm, Open Dancing: 8:30-11:30 pm | $15

The Fat Babies play every Sunday at the Honky Tonk (8pm | Free)
and every Tuesday at the Green Mill Lounge (9pm-1am | $6 | 21+). Both events are not organized dances, but dancing is encouraged.
