Java Jive

The Chicago Swing Dance Society runs its own weekly swing dance venue,Java Jive at the University of Chicago. Founded in 1995, Java Jive is currently the longest running Lindy Hop eventin Chicago. This Friday institution started in the Reynolds Club C-Shop on 57th and University, and late in 1999 was moved to its current location at Ida Noyes Hall on 59th and Woodlawn to accomodate growing attendance. Java Jive has been and will always be free for both students and the public. Some of the city’s best DJs hold court weekly at Java Jive, continuing the tradition of outstanding music.
